DiplomĂĄtico Mantuano is a premium blended rum from Venezuela, produced at the foot of the Andes Mountains in the town of La Miel. The distillery, DestilerĂas Unidas S.A. (DUSA), began its history in 1959 under the ownership of Seagram's International before being acquired in 2002 by a group of Venezuelan entrepreneurs. This locally owned estate holds the 'Ron de Venezuela' DOC (Protected Denomination of Origin) and is celebrated for its diverse distillation methods and artisanal approach to rum making.
Spirit Description
This rum presents a dark golden colour in the glass. The nose is rich and inviting, featuring prominent aromas of dried plums, oak, and a delicate spiciness. On the palate, the body is complex and well-balanced, delivering a less sweet and more robust profile than its counterparts, with notes of dried fruits, vanilla, and wood. The experience concludes with a harmonious and slightly dry finish, marked by lingering hints of oak and soft spice. It is a blend of rums aged for up to eight years in white oak casksâpreviously used for bourbon and malt whiskies, and is bottled at 40% Standard.
