Chateau Liversan 2019
Chateau Liversan is a red wine from the Haut-Médoc appellation on the Left Bank of Bordeaux, France. Built in 1850 and classified as a Cru Bourgeois in 1932, the estate is located in Saint-Sauveur, bordering the prestigious Pauillac appellation. Owned by the Lapalu family since 1995 (under the Antoine Moueix Properties portfolio), the winery follows a philosophy of minimal intervention and sustainable viticulture, recently eliminating all herbicides and endocrine disruptors to aim for zero residue in their wines.
Wine Description
In the glass, the vintage displays an inky dark purple or deep ruby-red colour. The nose is fragrant and expressive, revealing aromas of ripe cassis, black cherry, and plum, layered with delicate notes of violets, aniseed, and roasted coffee. On the palate, the wine is medium to full-bodied and well-structured, featuring a dense core of dark fruitâspecifically blackberry and currantsâsupported by firm, polished tannins and refreshing acidity. Stylistically, it is a classic Left Bank claret with a "quaffable" nature and excellent price-to-quality ratio, concluding with a persistent, savoury finish.
Varietal Composition: A blend of 50% Merlot, 44% Cabernet Sauvignon, 4% Cabernet Franc, and 2% Petit Verdot.
Optimal Drinking Window: Projected for enjoyment between 2023 and 2032..
