Château Chasse Spleen is a historic and well-regarded estate located in the Moulis-en-Médoc appellation of Bordeaux, France. Though better known for its red wines, the estate also crafts a limited production white Bordeaux of exceptional quality. The winery’s name—evoking the poetic idea of chasing away melancholy—speaks to its commitment to elegance, inspiration, and tradition. It has been managed by the Merlaut family since 2000, with a focus on expressive terroir and precise viticulture.

A rare white from the Médoc, the 2022 vintage of Chasse Spleen Blanc is composed predominantly of Sauvignon Blanc, complemented by a smaller proportion of Sémillon. It displays a luminous pale gold hue with green reflections. On the nose, it opens with vibrant citrus notes—lemon zest and pink grapefruit—followed by white peach, elderflower, and a subtle mineral edge. The palate is fresh and zesty, with a medium body and vivid acidity that carries flavours of lime, gooseberry, and a touch of salinity.
